Today we went to sign the petition for the adoption. With this signed, we wait our turn to see the judge to be stamped. Our court date is Aug. 22nd. I am so excited. In four months, Rebecca will be totally ours and we will be done with our social work visits. What a wonderful day of news.
Thinking more about my trip...everywhere we went, the people were so willing to help. Most of the college students would want to sit next to us in a restaurant or on the subway to have an opportunity to practice their English. One man told us on the subway that Rebecca was so lucky to have us adopt her and bring her to the states. I will never forget that...but I feel like the lucky one.
We did eat Korean food a few times while over there. It was good and authentic. We also had pizza twice. We went to this department store that was 20 stories tall. On one floor was a food court. Not really what you think of here in the states but all sit down restaurants, each with a different authenticity. The Italian restaurant was really good.
There was also a lot of cafe's there was well. This is what we did for breakfast. We would get bundled up and go out in the cold for breakfast. Two mornings we ate at McDonald's. McD's has never tasted so good to me and I don't even like the golden arches. Anyway, the cafe's were wonderful with great coffee.
The weather was cold (45 as a high) but beautiful. Most everyone dresses up there. Most men were in slacks, dress shirt or in a suit. Women were in dresses, skirts and high heals. So nice to see. Girls would walk arm in arm as friends. Most people that road on the subway had a cell that they would listen to music or watch movies. Now I know where all the iphone sales went.
That is all for now...more later.
